Philosophy
Christian education is that education which is Christ centered, pupil related, socially applied with a Bible-based
foundation.
The finest education is virtually worthless unless your child develops the self-discipline and determination that are
essential if he is to succeed in life. International Christian School is built on the premise that God’s Holy Word, the
Bible, when applied to a child’s life, will provide him with the time-tested principles that will enable him to set
proper goals and give him the strength to meet them. International Christian School consistently reinforces the
parents’ authority in the home, as well as a sense of duty to God and country.
Purpose
The primary objective and purpose of International Christian School is to train the student in the knowledge of God
and the Christian way of life and to give the student an excellent education. The teachers of International Christian
School realize the solemn responsibility before God in molding the life and character of each of their students in order
to give a good foundation for each child’s future.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Academic Program
Three-Year-Old Kindergarten
Three-year-old children are curious and love to learn. These children commit to memory the alphabet and receive
instruction in counting and phonics. They are also taught to print letters neatly and correctly.
Four-Year-Old Kindergarten
Our four-year-old program introduces your child to the exciting world of learning on a larger scale. This program
gives your children a solid foundation in basic phonetic sounds and rules and manuscript writing. Because they
receive careful instruction in reading, most students are able to read many small books before the end of the year.
Five-Year-Old Kindergarten
International Christian School offers a quality academic program in kindergarten. All children receive instruction in
phonics, arithmetic, reading, spelling, and cursive writing. Each student participates in a well-prepared graduation
production at the end of the school year.
Elementary
Emphasis upon student achievement and mastery of academic fundamentals throughout your child’s elementary
years can ensure a good foundation for the future.
Arithmetic
International Christian School uses an accelerated arithmetic curriculum. By the third grade, students are performing
extensive work in multiplication and division, solving equations, and adding, subtracting, and reducing fractions.
English
Beginning with the first grade, a practical knowledge of capitalization and sentence structure is combined with an
emphasis in creative writing and reading comprehension.
Reading, Phonics, Spelling
Most students read at grade level, and many read highly accelerated material. Because of our concentration on
phonics many students learn to spell up to fifty words per week.
Junior & Senior High
Character building and leadership training help prepare your child for future schooling, job training, and everyday
living.
Quality academics are stressed in the classroom, and a complete curriculum is offered. The curriculum of
International Christian School has been approved by local school boards as meeting state requirements for graduation.
INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL is a distinctively Christian, private
school that offers high academic and spiritual standards to its students. It is an extended ministry of the International
Baptist Church. This school believes that time and talent are trusts from God and is concerned with the spiritual as
well as the intellectual growth of the students.
ICS will admit students of any race, color, or creed as long as the student does comply with the code of conduct,
dress code, and discipline policies.
